Mr. Nielsen serves as a répétiteur and coach on the music staff of The Metropolitan Opera as well as a newly appointed Associate Artistic Director of the graduate school program at Juilliard.

THE METROPOLITAN OPERA

Adam joined the music staff of the Metropolitan Opera in 2018 as répétiteur and assistant conductor. His repertoire there includes Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Elektra, Eurydice, Der fliegende Holländer, Manon Lescaut, and Die Frau ohne Schatten.

FLORENCIA EN EL AMAZONAS

Mr. Nielsen will work on the new production of Catan's Florencia en el Amazonas at The Metropolitan Opera in Fall 2023.

Juilliard

THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL

Adam joined the Juilliard Vocal Arts community in 2011 as a staff pianist. Over the last 11 years, his role within the department has expanded, first promoted to faculty coach in 2015, and then to head coach and music advisor to the graduate level singers in 2018. In 2022, he became an associate artistic director of the Marcus Institute of Vocal Arts, overseeing the graduate program.

NEW LEADERS JOIN VOCAL ARTS

"Nielsen has been a coach, pianist, and assistant conductor at Juilliard since 2011. In his new role, he will partner with Zeger in the long-range planning and day-to-day artistic and academic operations of the department, with a particular focus on overseeing the curriculum for students in the master’s and graduate diploma programs."

JUILLIARD JOURNAL

FESTIVAL D'AIX-EN-PROVENCE

Mr. Nielsen joins Festival D'Aix-en-Proence from June 10-30, 2023 as the principal coach for the young artist pianists and singers in the 2023 Vocal Residency Program.

THE CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTE

Mr. Nielsen joins The Chautauqua Institute as a Guest Artist, giving coachings and masterclasses in July 2023.
