"I first learned it and performed it as a teenager, and then twenty years later I was asked to record it for a film score. I asked the director if she wanted a certain part of the piece, since it is a long work, and she requested that I prepare and record the whole thing. Ironically, they only ended up using a bit of the slow moody theme from the first page in the film."
